Awaiting quotes are excluded from the rate; the rest count as declined. Use the same group and time window. How it works.
The method / Questions answered
Give open quotes room to finish.
Enter the total sent, the accepted quotes and any still awaiting a decision. Everything else counts as declined. Awaiting quotes are excluded from the rate.
How is quote win rate calculated?
Declined quotes = total − accepted − awaiting. Win rate = accepted ÷ (accepted + declined) × 100. Awaiting quotes are not counted in the rate.
What does an example look like?
Fictional example: 25 quotes sent, 12 accepted and 5 awaiting a decision leave 8 declined. That is 20 decided quotes and a 60% win rate.
Which quotes belong together?
Choose one consistent group, such as quotes sent in the same month, and record their current outcomes. Do not mix this month’s wins with unrelated quotes sent this month. Revisit the group as open quotes are decided.
What is a good win rate?
This tool does not set an industry benchmark. Job size, quote quality and how you qualify work all matter. With no decided quotes, the rate is undefined; it is not 0%.
